Occupant injured in early morning fire

A pre-dawn fire in Quartzsite injured a resident at Crawford's Trailer Park on E. Main St. The manufactured home's occupant, Joel Martel injured his head after exiting the trailer, was treated at the scene and then taken to La Paz County Regional Hospital for further treatment. He was expected to be released, but was transferred to a hospital in Phoenix for neurological testing. He has some memory of the incident and it is reported that the crime scene was not properly secured by Quartzsite Police, nor did they request the security camera video from the Park's manager. This was Joel's first summer in Quartzsite and the trailer reportedly belongs to his mother. A neighboring trailer was also destroyed in the fire.
