Quartzsite Town Council puts Police Chief Jeff Gilbert back in!

Despite being under a current investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for drawing a weapon on resident John Jones, all members of the town council except Patricia Workman voted to reinstate scandal plagued Police Chief Jeff Gilbert to his position as acting Police Chief. The move came after an extensive executive session with attorneys for the Town in the Ed Foster special action, and a new conflict attorney hired by the interim town manager.

They also voted (Workman opposed), that Councilwoman Patricia Anderson would be the meeting chair, and Councilman Mike Jewitt would be the vice chair, thus eliminating the possibility that Mayore Ed Foster will run the meeting when he is seated.

Prior to reconvening the meeting, the Town was served wth federal lawsuits by residents Michael Roth, and Jennifer Jones, as well as a new Notice Of Claim for running Jones name through the ACJIS background check without probable cause or related to an investigation. Jones husband John also served the town with a Notice of Claim for the same practice.

It is expected that more lawsuits will follow.

    1. You can treat the clap with antibiotics. Unfortunately for us, a heavy dose of penicillin won't get rid of the chief.

    2. A heavy dose of lead will though. Admit it, you want to off him don't you?

    3. I think most of us want to see him leave in handcuffs.

    4. Lets face some facts here. NO ONE in Quartzsite wants to waist ANY lead on Gilbert! However, the thought that every night when I go to bed I will sleep soundly and safely knowing that Bubba is seeing to the needs of Inmate Gilbert for the rest of his life will make more people happy than dishonoring the names of other fallen Police Officers that have died in the line of duty protecting the innocent. 5. Yeah, I gotta agree with Jenny here. I wouldn't want to "off him" as you say because he isn't worth spending the rest of my life in jail for. He will get exactly what he deserves, and I will be smiling as it happens, but I'm not willing to encourage any violence toward that dirtbag or anyone else.

  2. Rumor has it that the administrator at the PD sent out whistleblower letters to everyone in power at the state and county level. Is there anyone who has the stomach to work for this imbecile? I also talked to one of the officers and he said the staff is leaving the sinking ship before Gilbert and his girlfriend can find reasons to fire them all.

  3. Good, keep Ed out of the power loop. He's a big part of the problem here. (The others are no better) He doesn't know how to properly vet candidates, (Remember when he blew an election by having Bill Moore on his slate?) When someone intelligent thinks about running and talks to him, they don't want anything to do with him. I know this because they've told me. I've had meetings with Ed and others who were considering but politely told Ed they weren't interested but told me NO WAY IN HELL THEY WANT TO PARTNER UP WITH ED AND HIS CAUSE. I've been saying it for at least 2 years now, Ed Foster is his own worst enemy. He's an arrogant know-it-all. He's a control freak. He doesn't listen. He'll lie to you with a straight face. He's boring. He's never had an original idea in his entire life. If he does have a pretty good idea he stole it from someone else. I've seen him plagiarize other people's work. He's a real dink of a person, just like the others on council. The irony is how the others hate him when they are soooo much alike. If Ed wasn't Ed, Gilbert and Taft would've been gone a long time ago. I think the "Ed is a victim" routine has gotten old. (Which Ed loves to play up) And it's not working.

If people with vested interests in this town don't step up to the plate, this little "rapetown" will go on in its current form forever.

There is a solution, a way out of this mess not one of the power tripping politicians and their hanger-ons will ever advocate, but the people want... un-incorporate this mess. It was a mistake to incorporate in the first place. All it's produced is greedy people with bad ideas about government looking for a little time in the spotlight.

Government IS the problem. Get rid of it. Quartzsite was much more free and much more prosperous before they incorporated. UN-INCORPORATE NOW! (Then Gilbert and Taft and their kind will have to find a way to make an honest living, or go find another town to destroy)

  4. The criminals who have seized power are desperate. Although this is a set back, the cracks are there, and the entrenched criminals are trying to glue back the pieces, only to protect themselves from prolonged prison sentences.

Keep up the pressure. They have already lost it. This is not the time to retreat.

Citizens of Quartzsite, reclaim your town. You're almost there.

  5. I can't wait for the elected officials to explain this one to the public.

Perhaps Gilbert has enough blackmail evidence on them that it was worth risking career suicide than immediate arrest.

  6. Roth,
I can't believe this but I agree with you on the Ed issue. People have offered to assist him in his cause and even gone to bat for him only to have him stab them in the back the next day. I dont think that the un-incorperation of the town would better serve Quartzsite for the reasons that I know first hand what it was like then and what we do have now. For instance we all had to have wells and some couldn't even afford to pay for a well to be dug and would have to haul water in every week. Sewer was dumped on BLM land the same land that people enjoy now. We had no police assistance from La Paz county. We had a drive away bank, no library,no paved streets,no lots of things. We all worked hard during the winter but struggled the same as we do now. We were considered the armpit of the county which ever wanted us one year mohave next year la paz. There had always been fueding! Nothing new! I was 18 the year that Richard Oldham was elected and I was proud to vote for a town incorperation because we could see that our families would have a future. Just as we have now we looked foword to a better tomorrow. Think of the better parts of incorperation though not perfect by far we have a 2 schools, more business year-round a park, paved roads, jobs during the summer and a college. Im not in love with all the decisions that are made as they have hurt my family and friends and have cut so deep to the point of part of my family moving away. No, I do not or will not be a advocate for Jeff Gilbert for he is a snake! But I know that it will take time to fix and get rid of them all legally. I think time will work this crap. Things are not so easy as a shoot out in the old west. I know its been 3-5 yrs of hell but I have hope for our little town and am a proud local who still believes in the future of Quartzsite!
I sign anonymous only because tomorrow I still live in Quartzsite

    1. Every body has to have someone to stab in the back,
EDD Foster has to finish this in a Court of law or nothing but B.S from ever side will stab him in every way possible, Where do you think your living?
I've always remember what my father said when you are around crooked people make sure you have the most blood thirsty investigatory and group law firm already paid to not stop till bodies are on the floor NO MERCY.
That way you can put a price tag on their asset anyone they represent and don't let breath till their crucified in the court of law, screw a million I wouldn' even think about less than fifty million to start.
Plus who is going to pay his cost, the city or should he pay it him self? Because I know Mark when he won his case he just said it's o.k I'll take the loss????/
Their other things to do here than stabbing your friends in the back when they truly need your support and encouragement. Call EDD and ask how he is doing and tell him he still has your support even after you don't need him any more. As a brother, You know, when they pick a fight you have to jump in their with right or wrong, whip or be whipped. A true blue= blood for blood death for death + I can curse but you can't.+QUALITY.

  7. I live in Quartzsite and I never sign anonymous. This is part of the problem in this town, people are afraid to stand up and let their voices be heard. Really, what are you afraid of that you can't post your name?

You might work for the town or have friends, possibly family that work for the town, so I understand why you say what you say.

However, you don't need a town for water, you could create a water district. You don't need a town for sewer, you could create a district for that as well. MUCH smaller government this way.

The idea that the town is the reason we have paved roads ignores the fact that all of the stuff you say are good for this area were created with stolen money, TAXES.

I don't have kids why should money be stolen from me and others who decided to not have kids. Nothing against kids, I love 'em, but don't force me to educate your kids. By the way, home schooling produces much smarter kids most of the time.

I've seen the college, you completely lost me on that one.

And how is that local policing working out. We were much better off when the Sheriff's office ignored us.

There are no jobs for most people here in the summer. So the idea the town is much better is way off base. Also, the county STILL treats Quartzsite like the armpit of the county. NOW the WORLD is laughing at Quartzsite too. Since Incorporating you have not gone anywhere but backwards.

Time to put the car in DRIVE and get rid of this insane town. The town will instantly prosper. EVERYTIME you cut government the people win.

  8. Ed Foster and I have had many a heated debate over the time that I have know him. However, my feelings have NOTHING to do with the fact that He was Elected the Mayor of Quartzsite, Arizona! We have to see him seated and EVERY item passed and/or approve by every unlawful Town Meeting that they have kept him out of his seat revisited.

I can fully understand the frustrations that Mayor Ed Foster has brought down between himself and his supporters. The renewal for my Web Site “aview.info” is coming up and I’ll be forced to shell out hundreds of dollars to keep the info flowing that helps Ed. Sadly, Ed has refused to answer my calls, E-mails, and/or request for records, documents, and reports that justify his legal claims and defeat the lies from the supporters of the Cabal at Town Hall. You CAN’T argue with the Truth within the pages of my Web Site.

Yesterday we broke 171K hits and we are growing each day. People like Martin E. Brannan are scared of the information found and with his write in vote for La Paz County Attorney; he is in BIG TROUBLE as we offer over 50 Documents, Records, Reports, and Videos that show the real Martin E. Brannan. Take a look for yourself and get the word out to every voter in La Paz County before the upcoming election! Visit http://www.aview.info/A-View-Index-ByName.html where we start off with Mr. Brannan’s record that he doesn’t want you to see!

This mornings stats show 177,282 hits on the counter since 8NOV11. I only report the facts as they are documented. With the AMRRP pulling the plug on Quartzsite’s Insurance (You can read the letter at aview.info and on this blog and the others.) I wonder just how much longer everybody has before there is no more water in the well to pull from?

    3. That fact is that anyone who has ever built a website or can use google knows that you can set the number at whatever you want to start, let's say, just for fun, that I want to start it at 177,282. Guess what? I can! Ahh, the magic of the interwebs. But you go right ahead and keep believing that anybody is falling for your line of bull. I've got better things to do, like setting some hit counters and pretending people give a shit about such things.

    4. PS, I think Homer Simpson said it best, "facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true". You and Homer share much of the same characteristics. I think Homer wears jogging pants even though he doesn't jog, probably for the elastic waistband. The socks with sandals to complete the whole look? Check. I seem to recall a video of you at an AZ POST meeting with that ensemble and that certainly is a look Homer would be sporting. A cartoon character you might want to emulate is Archer, he always looks sharp. But then, you'd have to do something in those jogging pants besides hit the all you can eat buffet at the casino.

  9. I'm sorry but I feel you're freaking doomed Quartzsite! I got as far in the video above as that fucking retard Joe Winslow, and about half way through his collectivist rant, begging for more of the poison that's killing his generation, I had to run to the stool because an immediate onset of the scours occurred. I could be wrong but I think my body was trying to tell me something.

And what is Ed the non-magnificent doing sitting in his chair like a wart? Get off your ass Ed and kick some intellectual ass. Sitting there doing nothing will accomplish the same!

  11. This is the process to UNINCORPORATE the city. Quoted from the League of Arizona Cities and towns publication titled " Incorporation in Arizona, 2011" www.azleague.org
"....A city or town in Arizona has the option to disincorporate if two-thirds of the qualified electors petition their board of supervisors. The board then has the option of disincorporating and appointing a trustee to close operations, or it may call for an election to be held at which time the electorate will decide the issue. There have been few actual disincorporations in Arizona and none have occurred within the last four decades. If the decision to disincorporate is made, a trustee is appointed by the board of supervisors to wind up the affairs of the municipal corporation, sell and convey property, real and personal, and pay debts. Disincorporation is not a method to escape financial responsibilities or the debt of a city or town. These debts, which would include such items as outstanding bonds, remain the responsibility of the community and must be paid by the community. If, after all payments are complete and there is money remaining, it will be used for community purposes. ......."
It's not clear who has to present the proposition or if the county board has to hold an election (they most likely will)

    It can be very costly.
The property owners will pay if the sale of assets do not cover the liabilities (and they won't)
Wouldn't be better if we all played nicely like adults? Put away the hatchets. This is getting very expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  12. There's lots of property owners here and we could pay off the debt, and then there would be freedom. Sounds like a good debt to pay off NOW, doesn't it? (If you don't pay it off now it WILL be much higher later! Can you say Yakima?) And besides do you really think the criminals at Town Hall are going to play nice? They were trained by Dan Field you know!

    UNINCORPORATE NOW
